Projection Type
Experiment 01
Projection type was developed based on the concept to generate hybrid forms of deconstructed types. It was achieved through the use of a projector to project conventional types onto uneven surfaces which caused the type to be distorted, warped, and deconstructed in its form.
The idea of the experiment was stemmed from the 2012 Night Festival by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM). By revisiting its past festivals, it was noticed that the use of a projector to project both visual and type creates an illusive distortion that wraps the projected subject to the building surfaces. This inspired me to challenge the boundaries of conventional typefaces through the use of the projector.
